Deshaun Watson wins prestigious award from the ACC

He certainly earned this one.

Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson was phenomenal this past year on the field. He was the first D-I quarterback to throw for over 4,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards and led the Tigers to the National Championship game.

While the Tigers didn't win that game, the QB did win some awards and was named to several All-American lists. It seems he's not done winning awards as he was named the ACC's top male athlete for the 2015-16 academic year, as voted upon by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association (ACSMA).

Not only did Watson lead Clemson to 14 victories, an ACC Championship, an Orange Bowl win and a spot in the national championship game, he became the first Clemson player to win both the Davey O'Brien and Manning Award winner as the nation's best quarterback. He also won the Archie Griffin Award, presented annually to the most valuable player in college football by the Touchdown Club of Columbus.
