Clemson has entered the period every season where players are banned from tweeting, posting, snapping, and Instgramming. The ban lasts all season —- which fans are hoping means until January —- and has been a staple under coach Dabo Swinney. The ban went into effect August 3rd and players are not required to delete or deactivate their accounts, but are "forbidden" from being active on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat or other social media during the season, according to a report from USA Today.

Whether you agree with the ban or not, the idea is to keep the players focused on the season and their work in the classroom. Swinney didn't enact this ban to punish players, but to help them and some people have been reading a little too far into it.
Just got a text from a coach seeing this. "It's nuts. 'Come to Clemson. We'll treat you like you're 8 yrs old.'" https://t.co/On4Vh53Drv

Whichever side of the issue you fall on, it should be interesting to see what happens if and when the ban is broken by a player.
