Justin Mascoll is one of the best defensive ends in the 2018 class and the talented prospect from South Gwinnett High School (Ga.) took to Twitter to announce his college commitment on Friday. Mascoll rates as the No. 3 defensive end in the class according to the 247Sports composite and that places him at No. 86 overall among 2018 prospects. The 6'4, 237-pound rising senior has flashed big-time upside and, in the aftermath of his announcement, Mascott shed some light on his choice in speaking to Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports:
"I just loved the feel there. It was definitely a place I've been thinking about for a long time. They always gave me that feeling that's indescribable."
With Mascoll on board, Clemson now boasts a top-five recruiting class in the country for 2018 and that speaks to the kind impact this youngster could make. Mascoll reportedly chose Clemson over an impressive list of offers and the likes of Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State came up short in pursuing his commitment.
Dabo Swinney and company roll on when it comes to securing elite prospects and Justin Mascoll has a home for the future.
