NFL expert has shocking player ranked as his top QB heading into the Draft

This is definitely the biggest surprise of draft season.

NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock has released his rankings for each position heading into the NFL Draft. The most intriguing and mysterious position for this year's NFL Draft might be the quarterback spot and his list might help to add to that intrigue. There are quite a few teams in need of one, but are any worth grabbing in the first round?

Here are Mayock's top five QBs:

1. DeShone Kizer, Notre Dame
2. Deshaun Watson, Clemson
3. Mitch Trubisky, North Carolina
4. Patrick Mahomes II, Texas Tech
5. Davis Webb, California

While none of the QBs available are believed to be first round locks, most analysts agree that a couple teams in desperate need of one will take a risk and draft one early. Most analysts believe that the San Francisco 49ers will take one with the second pick in the draft and there's been a ton of predictions of who they might go with.

Most of the people making mock drafts think that the 49ers will take either Clemson's Deshaun Watson or UNC's Mitch Trubisky. Those two are thought to be worth the risk in this particular draft, but to have Kizer as the top pick is absolutely ludicrous. He had accuracy issues, completing less than 59 percent of his passes and threw nine interceptions against 26 touchdowns this past season.

However, his size and strength intrigues some teams as he is 6'5" and weighs 220 pounds. He was also a solid runner as he rushed for just a shade under 1,000 yards in two years and scored another 18 touchdowns that way. Both Trubisky and Watson have the arm strength and slightly better accuracy that teams look for, which likely contributed to everyone else taking them over Kizer.
