It seems to be happening daily now—recruits dumping one team and running to another—and five-star edge rusher Armondo Blount is the latest after originally planning to play for Florida State.

To be fair, Blount originally wanted Miami but flipped to Florida State before ultimately returning to Miami. Now, the Seminoles and Mike Norvell face more scrutiny regarding their inability to land top defensive line talent.
Blount is 6'4" and 250 pounds. He played at Miami Central High School and was a five-star recruit for the 2024 class after reclassifying from 2025.
In high school, Blount had 13 sacks as a freshman varsity player and added 16 more as a sophomore.
Here's what 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins had to say about Blount's ability.
"He wins from both the inside and the outside," Ivins wrote. "Could likely play a variety of different roles at the next level and already has experience working up and down the line of scrimmage. Active, heavy hands allow him to fight off blockers while a flexible lower half makes it easy for him to find leverage. Tends to bring plenty of energy each snap and isn't one that's looking to bail on a rush. Does a favorable job of keeping his eyes in the backfield and seems to understand gap discipline."
Blount is the latest recruit to dump Florida State, with defensive back KJ Bolden doing so on Wednesday, opting for the Georgia Bulldogs instead.
Of course, the Seminoles finished the season 13-0, winning the ACC Championship, but were held out of the College Football Playoff in favor of one-loss and SEC Champion Alabama, mostly due to starting quarterback Jordan Travis' gruesome leg injury.
The Seminoles and Bulldogs will meet in the Orange Bowl before the New Year.
