One ACC coach thinks this FSU player will be better than Jalen Ramsey

Jalen Ramsey was taken by the Jacksonville Jaguars as the No. 5 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

One ACC coach thinks that first-round draft pick Jalen Ramsey isn't the best Seminole defensive back to have worn an FSU uniform in the last in the last season. According to the NFL.com, In a recent interview with Athlon Sports, an ACC coach, who was not named, said that by the end of his Florida State career, sophomore defensive end Derwin James, might wound up being a better overall back than Ramsey in the long run.

"Derwin James is flat scary good. He could probably start at all 11 positions. He's one of those freaky guys who might be better than Ramsey when it's all said and done," the coach told Athlon Sports.

James had a true breakout season as a true freshman last year, registering 91 tackles, ranking second on the team, with 4.5 sacks among 9.5 tackles for loss. I doubt we'll see James playing a nose guard, like the "all 11 positions" portion of that quote, but it's some pretty high praise given that Ramsey, the No. 5 overall pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in April, played just about everywhere in the secondary for the Seminoles.

James and the Seminoles kick off the 2016 season from the Camping World Kickoff from Orlando, Fla. against the Ole Miss Rebels.
