"I know I'm going to try to sign early, but as of right now I don't know about my visits," he told 247Sports.
Obviously, it is worth noting it is slightly odd that he's pledged to Florida State, but has his recruitment open. Basically, if we're cutting through the semantics of it all, he's actually not committed to the Seminoles even though he technically has.
"It's still the same people in the ball game," he told 247. "Miami, Florida, Florida State, 'Bama, Clemson, stuff like that."
"It's good with FSU," Dent said. "We've got a good bond for them to be new coaches. They've set the tone off right."
According to 247Sports, Dent is a composite five-star and No. 1 cornerback in the class of 2019.
With over 20 scholarship offers at his disposal, Dent has his choice of college football program. Even with his soft pledge to the Seminoles, it appears to be anyone's game to win at this point. Not to mention that, you know, there remains plenty of time to change the kid's mind.
It is probably worth noting that at one point he was committed to the Miami Hurricanes, but backed out of that last year.
With Dent wanting to commit early, programs will need to go after him in great haste.
