LSU is reportedly closing in on naming its next head coach, and if that man ends up being Jimbo Fisher, the Florida State job would then become one of the most attracting gigs in college football.
Per CBS Sports' Dennis Dodd, Les Miles is expected to be aggressive in pursuit of the Seminoles job, while Tom Herman is expected to be a candidate if he doesn't land at Texas or LSU.
247sports' Travis Haney lists North Carolina's Larry Fedora, South Florida's Willie Taggart and Mississippi State's Dan Mullen as candidates for the job.
Herman makes sense from a logic standpoint as he's one of the most sough-after coaching candidates. Fedora is right below that tier as a solid offensive mind.
Seminoles fans might be banging their heads against the wall at the thought of Miles bringing his talents to Tallahassee. If you're a fan of poor clock management and little offensive creativity, Miles is your guy.
Mullen is also an interesting candidate as he's suffered a bit of an up-and-down tenure during his time with the Bulldogs.
There's been plenty of chatter around the head coaching gig, with LSU "optimistic" they can land Fisher.
Fisher was linked to the job last year around this time as well, with reports circulating that the monetary figure of buying out former coach Les Miles, buying out Fisher and paying him a reasonable salary ended up being too much to bring back the one-time LSU offensive coordinator.
