Five-star running back James Cook (6-foot-0, 181 pounds, Miami, Fla.) decommitted from Florida State just over a month ago, and since then, Georgia has really been the team emerging in his recruitment.
On Thursday, Cook took to 247Sports to say that Georgia is the current leader in his recruitment, but that he is still pursing all of his options.
On the recruiting front, the one-time Florida State commit delivered some big news when asked if any team was currently leading his recruitment.
"UGA so far right now, but I'm still open and looking still," Cook admitted. "It's just the family atmosphere. It makes you feel like you're at home."
The good news for Florida State is that Cook says he plans to still reward the Seminoles with an official visit. Other recipients as of now seem to be Georgia, USC, and Louisville.
Cook is rated as a five-star recruit by Rivals.com. Both Rivals and the 247Sports Composite have him as the No. 3 running back of the 2018 recruiting class.
