"Florida State is my top — put it like that," he said when asked about his potential college choices.
Lucas had the opportunity to meet with new head coach Willie Taggart and his staff in person this weekend, who reaffirmed an offer initially extended by former head coach Jimbo Fisher.
"It was great, loved the coaching staff. It was great meeting with coach Taggart, love coach Taggart a lot," Lucas said.
"The difference between the last staff and this one is that they care," Lucas added. "I'm pretty sure the last staff cared, but they didn't show it as much as this one. Overall I love the coaching staff and see myself playing here soon."
Lucas ranks as the No. 8 offensive guard, No. 27 player from the state of Florida and the No. 176 overall prospect for the 2019 national recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports Composite.
