Four-star tight end recruit to visit Florida State instead of Michigan

Florida State 2016's recruiting class received some positive news on Wednesday.

Just one day after Florida State's 2016 class lost a five-star tight end verbal commit, it appears the coaching staff may have their eye on a replacement. Four-star tight end Naseir Upshur (6-foot-2, 233 pounds, Philadelphia, Pa., Imhotep Institute) reportedly will be visiting Florida State this weekend instead of Michigan like he originally intended.

Upshur is the No. 4 ranked tight end of the 2016 class.

Tight end Isaac Nauta decommitted from the Seminoles on Tuesday. Per 247Sports, Nauta is the No. 1 ranked tight end overall in the 2016 class.

According to Bud Elliott of TomahawkNation, Upshur will be joined by his father and two brothers on the visit.

Clint Brewster of the 247sports Michigan site, the son of FSU tight ends coach Tim Brewster, posted this earlier Wednesday ($) regarding the possibility of Nauta recommitting to the Seminoles.

"Finally, a source at Florida State says that they don't expect Nauta to re-commit to FSU and they have basically moved on. FSU plans to focus on Nasier Upshur and possibly another 2016 tight end with a similar skill-set to Nauta."
