Florida State dealt another devastating blow as a former 5-star player is now out for the year

More awful news for Florida State.

The year of injuries for Florida State has gotten even worse.

On Wednesday, head coach Jimbo Fisher announced that wide receiver George Campbell would miss the rest of the year with a core muscle injury.

The same injury is what caused Campbell to miss all of last season, and now it is going to cost him the remainder of this year. The injury is the latest in what has been an awful year for Florida State, with the leg injury that he suffered at the beginning of the season being the biggest blow to the Seminoles.

Campbell appeared in four games this season, recording six catches for 122 yards. Campbell is a former five-star recruit of the 2015 class, having been ranked as the No. 20 overall recruit by the 247Sports Composite.
