Jameis Winston instrumental in creating "winning culture" in Tampa Bay

He's certainly well-prepared for Year 2.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers haven't been to the playoffs since 2007, but under Jameis Winston's leadership, the second-year quarterback hopes to change that sooner rather than later.

Paired with offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter as a rookie, Winston became just the third rookie ever to throw for more than 4,000 yards. And that's why after firing Lovie Smith, Koetter earned the head coaching job.

"He brings the passion and drive that will re-energize our organization and help us establish the winning culture that will help us become the championship-caliber team that our fans deserve," general manager Jason Licht said when he announced Cotter as coach, via USA Today.

Koetter's success in Year 1 showed on the field, but Winston has been surrounded by success for a good part of the last three years.

In 2013, he won a National Championship, won ACC Rookie of the Year, the Heisman trophy and was named the MVP in the BCS National Championship game, as well as the ACC Championship game.

In 2014, he led Florida State to an appearance in the College Football Playoffs. Overall, he rattled off 26 consecutive wins before his first loss, a Division-1 record for quarterbacks.

After a strong first season, Winston will look to take a step forward, and limit his mistakes in 2016-17.
