On Saturday, Florida State saw starting quarterback Jordan Travis go down with a gruesome — and season-ending — leg injury, and Seminoles alum Jameis Winston provided some emotional thoughts about the signal-caller after the game.

"I just want to continue to encourage him to stay resilient and continue to persevere," Winston stated.
"I think he's the epitome of that with his journey, his college football career. He was having one of the best years ever in college football man and I'm grateful to be rocking his jersey," Winston continued.
Then, you could see the emotion build.
"I just to continue to lift him up... To him and his family, I just want to pray for his family, that they're well, he's gonna be fine, I know he will."

Travis was injured as he ran for a first down in the first quarter, with Florida State down 13-0 to North Alabama. He was tackled in a way that jarred his left leg, and it was what you expected — his leg was severely injured. His season and college career are now over.
After the game, Travis issued a statement saying that was his final college football game as he now looks to the NFL Draft.

"I truly cannot thank everyone enough for the many thoughts, prayers and messages that have been sent my way," the statement read.
"I have been overwhelmed by the support from teammates, coaches the Florida State community and those all around the world. Although the injury I sustained on Nov. 18, 2023, marks. the end of my Seminole career, the great memories created here at FSU will never fade. Being the quarterback at Florida State University has been a dream come true. I am humbled, honored and forever grateful. The journey that this team set out on is not over yet as all of our goals still lie just ahead. I am excited to be on my brothers' sides every day as we continue our attack. We're all we got and all we need. Job's not finished. Go Noles."
Florida State went on to win 58-13 over North Alabama, but the College Football Playoff hopefuls dropped one spot in the AP Top 25 to No. 5.
In Week 13, they face the Florida Gators — who are also without their starter, Graham Mertz, who broke his collarbone this past week.
