The criticism of the College Football Playoff Selection Committee is continuing, but this time it's coming from former coach Jimbo Fisher. Fisher, who most recently coached at Texas A&M from 2018-2023 but was at Florida State from 2007-2017, is speaking out against the Seminoles' omission from the four-team playoff.

Jimbo Fisher unleashed a RUTHLESS reaction to Florida State being left out of the playoff.
Is he correct or is the former FSU coach overreacting?

To quickly recap, the Seminoles went 13-0 this season and defeated Louisville in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship. However, after starting quarterback Jordan Travis injured his leg and Tate Rodemaker took over under center, the playoff committee opted to allow the 12-1 Alabama Crimson Tide — who beat the Georgia Bulldogs in the Southeastern Conference Championship Game — in over the undefeated Power 5 team.
Fisher, who won a national championship with the Seminoles, is coming to bat for his former squad.
"We've taken football and turned it into ice skating. It's wrong," he told OutKick. "Football is about what happens between the white lines. We've set it back because of opinions not based on truth. It's not ice skating. It's not (subjective) judgements. We are messing with the game."
Fans took to X to speak out regarding Fisher's comments.
He's correct and lots of coaches and players working in the media agree.

I couldn’t listen to him before he came and destroyed A&M. I certainly can’t listen now.

"(100 emoji) correct!! CFB is a complete sham of a sport," another X user stated. "Been saying this for years, players decide champions not random people."
Fisher was fired from his job with the Texas A&M Aggies prior to the end of this season, but he's a Seminoles legend after leading the team to a national championship back in 2013. Thanks to the help of quarterback Jameis Winston, Fisher went 82-23 with three ACC titles from 2012 through 2014.
The Seminoles will take on the Bulldogs in the Orange Bowl on Dec. 30 at 4 p.m. ET.
