Florida State linebacker Matthew Thomas is expected to be one of the biggest contributors on defense for the Seminoles this year in his senior season. However, he hasn't been on the practice field for at least a week because of a virus, but it looks like that wasn't the only thing keeping him off the field. Coach Jimbo Fisher said there were "other things" going on with him and other players. Via 247Sports:

"There's some other things going on with guys, but I plan on everybody being back, I don't plan on nobody not being" Fisher said when asked if Thomas was still out due to a virus. "...When they get back from injuries and they get back from things, they'll be back.
"They'll be back when they're back, but at the same time I don't expect any of them not to be back."
Fisher didn't go into any more specifics about Thomas' absence, but it doesn't sound like anything too serious and like he should be back fairly soon. Thomas should be a starter this season after appearing in all 13 games last season while recording 77 total tackles including 11 tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble.
