One of college football's fastest players has a legitimate opportunity to break Chris Johnson's 40-yard dash record

He'll run on Saturday, March 4, along with some of the top prospects in the country.

One of the top kick returners in the country, Florida State's Kermit Whitfield is also one of the fastest kids in the country.

At the NFL Combine, he'll have the opportunity to win an island worth $1 million by Adidas if he can break Chris Johnson's 40-yard dash record of a 4.24 sprint.

He reportedly told NoleGameDay that he's already run a 4.23 40-yard dash and knows he's faster than that.

Whitfield was practicing his 40 even before he received an invite:

According to Florida State's official website, Whitfield ran a 4.37 40-yard dash in 2013 as a high schooler. He won the state title in the 100 and 200-meter dash, along with the Adidas Dream 100-meter race in New York against some of the top high school sprinters.

He'll run on Saturday, March 4, along with some of the top prospects in the country.
