Pair of FSU stars earn national awards for performance against Ole Miss

These guys definitely deserved it.

Florida State has had quite an amazing week with its stunning win over Ole Miss and the national awards some of its players are receiving. Quarterback Deondre Francois has gotten a lot of love for his 419 passing yards and two touchdowns in his debut as a redshirt freshman and senior defensive DeMarcus Walker has too for his 4.5 sacks in the second half of the game.

Their performances were so good that they earned national awards. Francois was named the Davey O'Brien Quarterback of the Week for leading the Seminoles to the school's greatest comeback after being down 28-6 in the first quarter.

Of course, Walker was also a huge part of that as he sacked Mississippi quarterback Chad Kelly 4.5 times in the second half alone. That's a half-season's worth of production for most guys! For his efforts, Walker was named CBS Sports' National Player of the Week. He also finished the game with six tackles and a forced fumble.
