Police: Arrested FSU running back refused to get in cop car until they granted this bizarre request

Why would he ask for this?

Former Florida State running back Mario Pender was arrested Saturday on domestic battery by strangulation and resisting arrest without violence charges after he reportedly hit the mother of his child, dragged her by her hair and when officers arrived, was "straddling her body, with his hands around her neck," per the Tallahassee police, via Deadspin.

According to the report, after Pender was handcuffed, he refused to walk to the police vehicle until FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher responded to the scene.

Later a patrol supervisor showed up to the scene and Pender complied with getting into the patrol vehicle. The report does not note whether or not Fisher showed up to the scene.

The woman had a scratch on her left temple, bruising around her right eye and sever scratches and marks on her neck and upper chest, according to the report.

Pender has reportedly been dismissed from the team.
