At the end of spring practice, it was widely believed that Franklin was the No. 2 quarterback on the depth chart behind Maguire. Franklin did not play in the spring game because of an injury.
Although Franklin didn't play much for the Noles, he was a scout team star and allowed the defense to practice against a very mobile quarterback.
