There are a few schools who can claim that LSU is looking at their coach for its vacant head coaching position. LSU athletic director Joe Alleva is a huge fan of Fisher and has wanted him from the beginning.

Several reports say that Fisher is the first choice for LSU, but the coach himself has put down those rumors week after week and now the university president is getting involved. In speaking to the Tallahassee Democrat Thrasher said, "Jimbo and I talk frequently and based on that he is happy here and wants to stay." He went on to say "If there is something he needs or wants — within reason — we are open to looking at that."

That statement shouldn't surprise anyone as the university loves having Fisher and there's no reason to let a coach go who's won a National Championship and 76 games through most of his seventh season. Fisher is making at least $44 million as part of a contract that runs through 2022, and his buyout is a fairly large $5 million.
