Four-star OT Trey Smith releases a new top six

Trey Smith is the No. 1 overall prospect according to ESPN.

Offensive tackle Trey Smith (6-foot-4, 266 pounds, Jackson, Tn.) is getting closer to making a decision. The No. 1 overall prospect in the country according to ESPN has narrowed his list down to six schools. He listed them to ESPN.com — Three SEC schools made the cut, including Alabama, Tennessee and Ole Miss. The other schools included were Ohio State, Clemson and Notre Dame.

"My dad is a businessman, so he had a spreadsheet for me to narrow it down," he said via ESPN. "We put in boxes with a scale of 1 to 10 with things like a good offensive line coach, a good relationship with the coaches, opportunity to prepare me for the NFL and opportunity to play. We just had our list end evaluations of each school, and whoever was the top six on the list was my top six."

Smith will take all five of his official visits during the season and will make a commitment by mid-December, before Christmas.
