In the spirit of Halloween, let's take a look at one of the most downright spooky squads you'll see all season, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. They're not a juggernaut, but every Georgia Tech game can turn into a horror show for the opponent at a moment's notice- or perhaps I should say every other game.

Georgia Tech is having one of the strangest seasons I’ve ever seen.
First off, the Yellow Jackets have only won in their even numbered games (their wins have come in games 2, 4, 6, and 8). Game 10 is Clemson, game 12 is Georgia.
Second, they’ve played three ranked teams. All… pic.twitter.com/mtZz1Gb8MI

The Yellow Jackets have been so inconsistent that it works out to an eerie level of consistency. They're sitting at 4-4 with 254 points scored and an identical 254 allowed, and incredibly 33 touchdowns scored and allowed as well, but they've been a different team every single week. They've lost every odd-numbered game, and won every even-numbered game, with an even-numbered win streak that would include victories over Clemson and No. 1 Georgia, if extended.
Their losses have often been puzzling, like uncompetitive efforts at the hands of Bowling Green and Boston College, but they've beaten the team ranked #17 in the country at the time on two separate occasions, most recently this past week against North Carolina. Incredibly, their only other game against a ranked opponent, a loss to Ole Miss, was also against the AP's No. 17 at the time.
The odds and evens trend even cast a spell over the UNC game itself; Tech scored all of their points in the even-numbered quarters. They've also led by multiple scores in two losses, and trailed by multiple scores in two wins. Despite their week to week inconsistencies, the Yellow Jackets seem to have been bewitched into being the country's most average team, even if they'll never look like it.
This upcoming game will be their ninth of the season, so by these rules, they should lose to Virginia; if they win, we can consider the curse broken. But if the Cavaliers pull off another upset, Clemson and Georgia won't be able to help but wonder if the Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech will be haunting them next.
