Irish247 has learned that Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco three-star safety D.J. Morgan has committed to Notre Dame.
The 6-3, 205-pounder visited South Bend back in September for an official visit and watched Notre Dame defeat Texas, 38-3. While on campus, Morgan actually made a silent commitment to the Fighting Irish coaching staff.
Today, he went public with his decision.
The class of 2016 recruit chose the Irish over offers from California, Arizona State, Vanderbilt, Nebraska, Northwestern and others.
While on campus, Morgan was hosted by class of 2015 signee and Notre Dame cornerback Nick Coleman.
Morgan didn't just pick a random Sunday to make his commitment known. This date was well thought out. He chose today to make the biggest decision of his life because he wanted to honor the passing of his best friend, David Aguilar.
Per the 247Sports Composite rankings, Morgan is the No. 28 overall safety in the country and No. 50 prospect in California from the class of 2016.
