One ACC team just ran easily the dumbest play ever in their own end zone

Yikes.

Pittsburgh lost pretty badly to Penn State on Saturday 33-14. One of the many reasons was because of poor play-calling and execution. This was a prime example of the former as the Panthers were backed up to their own end zone and throwing out of it and decided to throw a screen pass:

This was a safety and easily the dumbest play of the season so far this year. Why would you ever throw a screen pass when there is no room to take any loss there? Looks like we're going to have to ask the offensive coordinator or head coach because they are the only people who could possibly explain that decision-making.
