If this algorithm is accurate, you should expect two teams from one conference to make the College Football Playoff for the first time since its inception.

CFPmachine.com uses a formula to try and predict who the committee will pick as the four Playoff teams, and this week they have Ohio State followed by Alabama, Louisville, and Clemson. Yes, that's Ohio State as No. 1 and two teams from the ACC making it into the Playoff.
Could that actually happen? Absolutely. If the winner of the Clemson-Louisville game in two weeks goes undefeated, and the loser manages to say at one loss, then few candidates will have a resume better than both. The Big 12 is already and mess, and the Pac-12 could beat itself up before the end of the year.

The bigger surprise here might be Ohio State at No. 1 over Alabama. That just seems like an awkward conclusion right now.
The CFPmachine predicts Houston, Texas A&M, Stanford, and Michigan State as the first four teams out of the Playoff.
