Rising ACC powerhouse gives its coach unexpected extension

He is making a lot of progress.

The Florida State Seminoles didn't have the kind of March that fans were probably hoping for after a solid 2016-17 NCAA regular season, but it was still a good season nonetheless and the Noles did have one of the best freshman in the country in Jonathan Isaac.

With that said, ESPN's Jeff Goodman reported Thursday that Florida State has elected to extend head coach Leonard Hamilton's contract through 2020.

Hamilton is already the Seminoles all-time wins leader for their men's basketball team, so locking him up and giving him more time to build makes sense.

Still, with the kind of talent he's bringing in now, like Isaac, he's going to have to make a deep postseason run sooner rather than later with expectations rising.

As of this writing, Hamilton has the No. 25 recruiting ranking for the class of 2017 via 247sports.
