No. 11 Virginia (16-4, 5-3) was on the ropes against Wake Forest (10-10, 1-7) in Winston-Salem, but found a way to win in the most improbable of fashions. The Cavaliers were down seven with about 15 seconds left in the game when Marial Shayok hit a three to close the gap to four. UVA fouled Devon Thomas and he missed the next two free throws to give Virginia chance.

Then it was Malcolm Brogdon who hit another three to close within one point. UVA had to foul again and Wake only hit one free throw to make it a two-point game. That was good enough for Darius Thompson as he hit a desperation three to win the game 72-71 and avoid a serious upset in the ACC.
The funny part is that Thompson wasn't actually going for the win either, he was just hoping to get to the free throw line. "I just tried to get a foul, and threw it," Thompson said. "And it happened to go off the backboard." Sometimes offense by accident is the best kind of offense.
