Akron player mistakenly shoots teammate

This is just terrible.

Akron wide receiver Andrew Pratt was shot in the stomach early Sunday morning and police say a teammate is the one who did the shooting.

According to police, Pratt walked into an apartment about 3 a.m. without knocking. His teammate, offensive lineman Scott Boyett, shot Pratt because he thought he was a burglar, according to Ohio.com.

Boyett had taken Pratt  to the hospital by the time police arrived at the apartment. No charges were filed after both players were interviewed and police decided that the whole thing was an accident.

Pratt is expected to recover from this injury as he goes into his senior season. He played in 13 games last season, making 28 catches for 280 yards and a touchdown.
