We wrote last week about how five-star wide receiver Demetris Robertson (6-foot-0, 175 pounds, Savannah, GA) was still deciding where to attend school, all despite being a member of the 2016 recruiting class. Robertson was waiting to see what he got on his SAT score, all in order to see if he could get into Stanford.
Well, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Robertson feel just short on his SAT score for Stanford, opening up possibility of his commitment to Notre Dame, Alabama, or Georgia. Of course, the AJC also notes the potential that Robertson could commit to a bit of an underdog compared to those other recruiting powers: Georgia Tech.
"I think people kind of underestimate my interest in Tech at this point," Robertson said last Saturday. "I really liked that visit a lot. I talk to those coaches a lot."
Robertson would be Georgia Tech's highest rated commitment since Calvin Johnson over a decade ago. It's unclear if Robertson would change positions for the option-based team, but it is clear that he values education, which puts the Yellow Jackets in a unique spot.
It looks like Robertson will take the SAT at least one more time on March 5 in attempt to qualify for Stanford, so his commitment will continue to hang in the balance until he gets his scores back on that test.
