Solomon's career was derailed after injuries in his sophomore and junior seasons. This was after a spectacular freshman season in 2014, where Solomon threw for 3,793 yards — an FBS high for freshman that season — and 28 touchdowns.

Despite injuries, Solomon still played in 11 games in his sophomore 2015 season, throwing for 2,667 yards, 20 touchdowns, and on five interceptions. However, this season, Solomon only threw for 64 attempts in five games.

As a graduate transfer, Solomon would be eligible to play immediately in 2017. He is a former three-star recruit.
