Asante Samuel Jr. is one of the best cornerbacks in the 2018 recruiting class and, as you may expect from his blood lines, there is a great deal of intrigue as to where the talented defensive back will land when he finally commits. On Wednesday evening, Samuel Jr. shed a great deal of light on what recruiting analysts and fans can expect, indicating that he will be announcing his pledge this summer and providing the world with a new top-five list.

Samuel Jr., who hails from Fort Lauderdale's St. Thomas Aquinas High School (Fla.), lists Florida State, Miami, LSU, Ohio State and Alabama as his options for the next step. It should come as no surprise that the 5'10, 165-pound cornerback is considering Florida State and Miami given proximity, and any prospect receiving interest from Alabama is bound to take notice.
At this juncture, it is probably too early to speculate as to where Samuel Jr. will end up but he can't go wrong with any of the stated options. For now, Samuel Jr. ranks as a four-star prospect and as the No. 108 overall player in the class according the 247Sports composite, but he'll have plenty of time to buoy that ranking and rationally evaluate his decision before the summer.
