Athlon Sports' preseason top 25 is dominated by the SEC

Tennessee is that high?!?!?

It's only May, but we've already seen our fair share of way too early top 25 lists for 2016. Some are pretty normal while others have been completely off the wall with Florida not even ranked or Tennessee in the top 10. This particular list from Athlon Sports is somewhere in the middle with Tennessee way too high, but Florida still ranked.

The SEC had the most teams on the list with six followed by the Pac 12 and ACC with five (if Notre Dame is included), the Big 12 with four and the Big Ten with four as well. The entire list can be found below:

1. Alabama
2. Florida State
3. Ohio State
4. Clemson
5. Michigan
6. Oklahoma
7. Tennessee
8. Notre Dame
9. LSU
10. Ole Miss
11. Washington
12. Stanford
13. Michigan State
14. Baylor
15. UCLA
16. Houston
17. Georgia
18. TCU
19. Louisville
20. Iowa
21. Florida
22. North Carolina
23. USC
24. Oregon
25. Oklahoma State

The top four schools on this list shows mostly a reflection of the top four programs over the last few years in college football so it makes sense to have them so high. The next five schools all have good history, but are kind of turning a corner and getting back to being some of the better teams in the land.

Really anything after the No. 10 spot is a crap shoot so have fun debating where each of those schools belongs in this pecking order. All I know is we need September to get here real quick before we all lose our minds.
