Former NFL lineman and current SEC Network analyst Booger McFarland believes Baker Mayfield is incapable of being a franchise quarterback.

On Wednesday, McFarland criticized the Heisman Trophy winner, calling him a "bad dude" and claiming he lacks "a certain character" needed to succeed at the NFL level during an appearance on The Will Cain Show.
"I think Baker Mayfield is just a bad dude," McFarland said. "To me, his talent level will keep him in the league a long time because I think his talent level is that good. Is he ever going to be the guy that you can put your franchise on his back and he'll take you to the promised land? I just think you have to have a certain personality to do that. And in my opinion, I don't think he has it. I could be wrong. I just don't think he has that."
The quarterback has received plenty of criticism leading up to the 2018 NFL Draft, with many questioning his maturity.
He's also drawn comparisons to former Cleveland Browns first-round pick Johnny Manziel who, like Mayfield, enjoyed a decorated college career that included winning a Heisman Trophy and had a similar playing style, but had concerns based on his antics both on and off the field.
That, of course, led to him being released just two years after being drafted, which many assume could happen to the former Sooner as well.
Still, Mayfield is projected to be a first-round pick and will likely get his chance to be a franchise quarterbacks, regardless of his potential red flags.
