Heisman candidate says this fan base created the best in-game experience he “probably will ever have"

And you thought it would be his own school, didn't you?

Tennessee fans likely won't like being reminded about the infamous Oklahoma game, but this reminder is actually a flattering one. While Vols players and fans won't appreciate Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield's efforts in that game, he did have some pretty nice things to say about Neyland Stadium and its fans.

In an interview with Athlon Sports Mayfield was asked what venue besides Oklahoma Memorial Stadium he enjoyed playing in the most. Mayfield replied with this:

"Last year when we went to play Tennessee in Neyland Stadium, that was probably the best game experience I've had and probably will ever have. That's a different type of loud. I can't even describe it. It was unbelievable."

Surely winning a game in that environment is fun, but that's also a pretty great compliment for the Vols who should be able to use that raucous environment to secure some more wins this year. And hopefully it won't be the home of some meltdown losses again this season.
