The Big 12 had a dismal performance in the 2017 NFL Draft, actually ranking behind the American Athletic Conference with 15 draft picks compared to the Big 12's 14.
So about the talent in the Big 12...

The dismal performance wasn't just limited to conference comparisons; both Michigan (8) and Alabama (7) had more defensive players taken than all ten teams in the Big 12 (6) combined.

Considering that the Big 12 has already missed out on two of the three College Football Playoffs, this really isn't a good look for the talent in the conference. Not only that, these are the exact stats that recruiters use to promote their own schools while negatively recruiting others.
