Oklahoma's Charles Walker has officially played his last down for the Sooners as he's stepped away from the team and will prepare for the 2017 NFL Draft. The defensive lineman was a projected first round pick coming into this season and hasn't played since Oct. 1 because of a concussion suffered against TCU.

Defensive coordinator Mike Stoops did not take too kindly to the news that Walker had decided to end his season and involvement with the team. He threw out just about the harshest accusation you can hurl at anyone who plays a team sport. He said that Walker quit on the team and seemed pretty livid on the subject.
"Quitting on your teammates is hard to take, as a coach. That's everything we stand for — our commitment to one another and, for whatever reason, that wasn't there for him. He thought this was a better avenue so you would have to ask him for those (answers). ...
"[Y]ou can't have guys coming and going and have a group of players committed to what they're doing day in and day out, putting all the time and energy into it. It's not fair to the players that are on our team if they're not committed to the team."
Walker has recorded 53 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks in his three years at Oklahoma.
