Star Oklahoma RB suspended for what might be the dumbest reason ever

Mixon has rushed for over 800 yards this year.

Well this is just dumb.

Oklahoma announced on Tuesday night that they had suspended star running back Joe Mixon for their next game against Iowa State, citing "violation of team rules" as the reason. It turns out that the violation came from Mixon's reaction when he received a parking ticket on Tuesday morning.

Seriously.

According to the Oklahoman, Mixon received a parking ticket on Tuesday morning, and he responded by tearing up the ticket in front of the parking attendant and throwing it to the ground.

Obviously this pales in comparison to the criminal troubles that Mixon has faced in the past, which resulted in him being suspended for the entire 2014 season. However, apparently Bob Stoops thought this incident was enough to sit Mixon for the game against Iowa State.

Mixon has rushed for 813 yards and scored nine total touchdowns on the year. The suspension will leave the Sooners will just one scholarship running back on Saturday, as starter Samaje Perine is still out nursing a hamstring injury.
