Tom Herman's only All-American gets major update on his injury

Tom Herman was hoping to hear this.

Tom Herman and the Longhorns got some bad news earlier this season when All-American lineman Connor Williams went down with a serious ligament injury. However, it seems that there is a chance he could be back this season as he will opt not to get surgery and Herman has said he will be re-evaluated in a few weeks.

That leaves an exact number open to interpretation, but the Longhorns face Oklahoma and Oklahoma State in the next few weeks for what that may be worth. They face Baylor and TCU on the road the next two weeks after that as well and it would be pretty great to have their potential first-round pick on the field to help win a few of those games and get them bowl eligible.

While not getting any surgery might be good for Williams it could also mean that the All-American may not play another snap in hopes of preserving himself for the NFL Draft and whichever team he plays for next.
