Referees involved in any football game are in danger of taking hits on any given play, but this one takes the cake. In the TCU-West Virginia game, one referee actually handed out a hit to Kyle Hicks who was poised to break off a nice run until the referee used his hit stick to level him.

Hicks was probably good for another five yards or so if the ref didn't lay him out there. TCU is currently down 21-10 to WVU in the second quarter.
