Five-star CB Brendan Radley-Hiles promises a "shock" when he makes his commitment

Now we're interested.

When it comes to high school kids making commitments, college football has really upped its game the last several seasons. Despite signing day becoming more a circus than a bunch of kids making a declaration, Brendan Radley-Hines wants to promote his reveal in advance to heighten the suspense.

Like a pro wrestler who won't see his actual match happen for a few more weeks, Brendan Radley-Hiles (5-foot-10, 187 pounds) is out here telling people to get ready for a shocking commitment ceremony. The sort that will incorporate six different hats because gluttony is the hero we never knew we needed.

"All I gotta say is it's going to be a surprise. It's going to be a shock," Radley-Hines said this week in San Antonio (via Tigernet).

The six caps in the mix are Clemson, Oklahoma, UCLA, Florida State, Nebraska and Alabama. Nearly the entire rainbow of colors will be involved, basically.

Radley-Hiles is also apparently getting friendly with Clemson coach Dabo Swinney:

"I had about a 45-minute talk with him and I got to talk about who I am as a person," Radley-Hiles said, "what I stand for, and altogether just who I am. We talked about the program. We talked about the future. We talked about what I should be doing for the game purposes. He wanted me to visualize myself in the game and not just be a regular recruit. He wanted me to make sure I could see myself making plays in big games like that.

"He's a great guy and he's cool, but he's straight to it. He's serious about his job. I understand he likes to have fun a lot, but then he's a guy that gets down to business."

The defensive back is expected to announce his commitment at the end of the third quarter during Saturday's U.S. Army All-American Bowl. The five-star recruit is ranked as the No. 5 recruit in the state of Florida and the No. 4 cornerback in the 2018 class according to Rivals.
