RELATED: Michigan's spring game ends on intense defensive play
Michigan held their annual Maize and Blue spring game on Friday, and one of the issues that the Wolverines needed to work out was who is going to replace Jake Ruddock as the new starting quarterback.
Will it finally be Shane Morris's time to take over as the starter? Well, judging from the scrimmage on Friday, he might not even be in the race at all any more, as he took a number of snaps at wide receiver during the game. If Morris does move positions, who does that leave for Michigan's quarterback battle?
As SB Nation notes, both Wilton Speight and John O'Korn got a number of snaps in at quarterback on Friday. Speight was 5-for-6 for 46 yards on the day, throwing for a touchdown and rushing for another. Overall, he was impressive, and he clearly stood out on a day were both Michigan teams only scored 27 total points.
There is obviously a lot of time between now and the start of the season, but Michigan and head coach Jim Harbaugh may be starting to figure things out on offense, and Speight may be their guy for the 2016 season.
