Warinner was reported to have interviewed for an offensive analyst position with the Wolverines, replacing Scott Turner, who left for an NFL position, according to 247Sports.
The long-time college assistant joined Minnesota's staff in 2017 following the hiring of head coach P.J. Fleck after several seasons with Ohio State as an offensive line coach (2012-16), offensive coordinator (2015-16) and tight ends coach (2016).
Warinner also made stops at Notre Dame (2010-11), Kansas (2003-04 and 2007-09), Illinois (2005-06), Air Force (2000-02), Army (1987-1999), Michigan State (1985-86) and Akron (1984) during his lengthy coaching career.
