Amari Burney is a four-star safety out of Clearwater, Fla. and he is close to making a decision according to what he told 247Sports. He was supposed to play in his high school's spring game, but bad weather forced a cancellation. However, there were a few coaches at the game representing several schools, but one of the most noticeable pairs were those from Ohio State.
The 6'1", 215-pound safety has the Buckeyes and two other schools in his top three right now in Florida and Virginia Tech. He's expected to make his decision in about two weeks and he's said he's going to take that time to think about where he will commit.
"I am probably done taking visits and now is more about sitting down and talking things over with my parents and seeing what is best for me. I will talk with coaches like Greg Schiano, Doug Nussmeier, and Bud Foster at Virginia Tech and hear that they have to say again. I just am going to look at the relationship with the coaches and the school and see who is telling me what I want to hear or who is saying the truth."
247Sports has Burney ranked as the No. 10 safety in the country for the class of 2018 and the No. 25 recruit in the state of Florida. The crystal ball has 15 predictions on him with all of them saying the Gators will land him when he makes his decision. He also holds offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State and Miami among quite a few others.
