The top of the recruiting rankings has been shifting all spring and summer seemingly with each major recruit that commits. It would seem the latest commitment from the nation's top tight end in Jeremy Ruckert has put the Buckeyes over the edge for the top spot that Miami used to occupy.

The Buckeyes have two 5-star recruits in top DT Taron Vincent as well as the No. 2 strong side DE in Brenton Cox. Miami only has one while both have twelve 4-star recruits with Ruckert being the latest to commit on either side. According to 247Sports' team rankings, Ohio State is averaging a score of 95.43 per recruit while Miami is at 91.78 in the class.
There's still plenty of time until the new December signing period for the class to shift. And there's time from then until the big National Signing Day frenzy for things to change once again. But the Buckeyes have gotten out to an incredibly strong start for the cycle and will surely be looking to shore it up heading into the season and into December.
