Michigan's first touchdown of the day came on an insane catch by Roman Wilson.
Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh returned last week in the Wolverines's win against Rutgers, and the Wolverines scored a touchdown in every quarter in the win over the Scarlet Knights. Michigan hit the road for Harbaugh's second game of the season on Saturday, September 30th against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and the Wolverines picked up right where they left off.
In the first quarter, on second down with two yards to go, Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy rolled right and launched a ball to the end zone for his top wide receiver, Roman Wilson. Wilson had a Nebraska defender in between him and the pass from McCarthy, but Wilson just wanted the ball more than Nebraska. Roman Wilson went up over the defender and pinned the ball against the defender's helmet in the back of the end zone, scoring Michigan's first touchdown of the day.
The 29-yard score was impressive all around, as Wilson also had to get his feet down in the end zone before he and the defender fell out of bounds. After review, the touchdown stood, giving Michigan a 7-0 lead early in the first quarter. Michigan would score another touchdown before the end of the first quarter, securing a 14-0 lead at the start of the second quarter.

Wilson is having a star season, with 268 yards and six touchdowns through the first four games, and 39 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns, not including his 29 yards and touchdown on Saturday. Wilson is one of the top wide receivers ahead of the 2023 NFL draft and is also the top target of Michigan Heisman candidate J.J. McCarthy. He should make an appearance at the Senior Bowl down in Mobile, where he can really shine in front of NFL scouts and general managers. He'll continue to be a top target for McCarthy, and a big reason why Michigan's offense will bee successful this season.
