Nigel Hayes and the Wisconsin Badgers are in College Park for the game against Maryland this weekend. The Badgers are practicing with a much more different ball than usual because the Terps are an Under Armour team and so they use those basketballs. Nigel Hayes was asked about it before the game and he gave a very specific and interesting answer.
He definitely threw some fireballs of his own with that commentary that wasn't really about basketballs, but more about the state of amateurism in the NCAA. That's a metaphor a lot of other student-athletes can probably get behind and would like to see explored more. Good for Hayes to take his stand and to do it intelligently.
