Former Ohio State senior and running back Bri'onte Dunn was kicked off the team July 18 for "violation of team rules." It was later revealed that the violation was related to an alleged incident between Dunn and his girlfriend that resulted in a protection order against him.

The Columbus Dispatch now reports that domestic violence and assault charges are being filed against Dunn for the incident.

The charges are considered first-degree misdemeanors. According to Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch, they carry a maximum penalty of six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.
