Torrance Gibson entered Ohio State before the 2015 season as a much hyped four-star prospect. Now, his chapter with the Buckeyes is officially over, as the converted quarterback will take the next step in his college football career at another institution.
After rumbles to this effect, Gibson confirmed that he will transfer from Ohio State.
From there, speculation turns to where the 6-foot-4, 215-pound super-athlete will land and Austin Ward of ESPN brings word that his next destination will be Cincinnati, where he can play for former OSU assistant Luke Fickell. Gibson was suspended for the 2016 season, making this slightly less of a burden for Urban Meyer and his staff, but given the expectations when the young man entered school in Columbus, it remains a black mark.
Gibson transitioned to play wide receiver in Columbus, but reports indicate that he will be aiming for a return to quarterback after being away from the position for two seasons. For Cincinnati, this is a big-time get on a prospect with a talent level that the Bearcats aren't used to securing, and Fickell could have his "guy" moving forward to build the program back to where it has historically been in the college football landscape.
