Four-star WR Lance Wilhoite says four programs are standing out

One of these seems out of place...

Lance Wilhoite, a four-star wide receiver prospect, has pegged four programs above all others. We know this because he literally said as much.

On Saturday, he said Ohio State, Clemson, Florida State and Louisville are the four schools "standing out right now." This might seem like bad news for other programs, but he does still plan on visiting Tennessee, and possibly a few other schools before making a decision.

It is worth noting that more than 15 programs are attempting to get the skilled receiver to their campus.

By way of GoVols247, here's the WR speaking about the Vols:

"They (Tennessee) started reaching out to me after the national championship game — right after that — because (offensive graduate assistant) Caleb Cox, (tight ends coach) Brian Niedermeyer talked to me," Wilhoite said after participating in tryouts for a 7-on-7 team sponsored by former Tennessee wide receiver Josh Malone.

"And that's when Coach Pruitt and (defensive line) coach (Tracy) Rocker started talking, and then (wide receivers) coach (David) Johnson. They all just started flooding out, so now we're just talking back and forth."

Wilhoite says all of his favorite four schools hosted him for games this season, the Vols did not.

In the entire interview, the receiver seems pretty open about what preferences he has when picking a school. While he prefers to stay in-state (he's from Tennessee), he admitted he wouldn't mind playing in warmer weather. Nevertheless, he still has time to make a decision.

"I'll have all my schools down probably at the end of this summer, and then I'll probably commit, probably before my senior season or afterwards," he said. "That'll be the time I commit."

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound receiver out of Nashville is ranked as the top recruit in the state and the No. 19 player at his position according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He also has offers from Florida, LSU, Ole Miss and USF among others.

Here are some of his highlights:
